Welcome to the IEEE VT-S Propagation Committee

The UBC Radio Science Lab conducts a variety of wireless propagation measurement and modeling projects with support from industry sponsors, standards groups and government funding agencies.

As wireless networks become more complex, move to higher (or lower) frequencies, and/or are deployed in more challenging situations, propagation and channel models that accurately describe the new environments must be developed. By translating our knowledge and understanding of the wireless environment into propagation and channel models useful in system analysis, design, and deployment, we help designers achieve their system coverage, reliability and performance goals.

Our current projects include:

* Wireless propagation on Ka-band links to satellites in low Earth orbit

* Fixed wireless propagation in suburban macrocell environments for intelligent power grid applications

* Wireless propagation for intelligent transportation systems

* Wireless propagation over short-range links in industrial and transportation environments

* Wireless propagation over body area sensor networks
